This is the 27th annual
Fossilmania which means that it is one of
the longest lasting annual events in Glen
Rose. Fossilmania is a show with
vendors dedicated to fossil
and fossil related materials and anything
relating to paleontology. Besides
fossils, books, maps
and tools are on sale. The DPS and
Paleontological Society of Austin tables
will have free educational material for
everyone and free fossils for all kids.
The DPS
is celebrating its 25th
Anniversary this year. Special commemorative
T-shirts with
two
designs to choose from,
Cretaceous Seas or
Lone Star Dinosaurs,
are
for sale on line now and will be
available at the show
Drawing for the raffle prizes is after the
fossil auction. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6
for $5.00 (You need not be present to win!)

Everyone is welcome to attend the
talk by Charles "Chuck" Finsley Friday
night. Chuck Finsley was with the
Dallas Museum
of Natural History from 1961 to 1995.
Chuck is a great speaker and is the author of two books:
"A Field Guild
to Fossils of Texas" and "Discover Texas
Dinosaurs."
Be sure to get copies of both book at
Fossilmania.
Don't forget everyone is welcome to the fossil
auction Saturday night.

Tables are available for rent on a
first-come-first-serve basis to both
individuals (who want to sell or trade) and
commercial dealers. To make table

Participants are responsible for arranging
their own overnight accommodations during
the show.

life-size dinosaur replicas in an
outdoor setting. While you are there visit
the museum, enjoy the Fossil Dig and the
Gift Shop.

sanctuary. An opportunity to see some of the
rarest animals in the world.
There is much to see and do in Glen Rose.
Fortunately, there are a number of places to
stay in Glen Rose whether you prefer a
hotel, a bed and breakfast, RV, or camping.

Convention and Visitors Bureau of
Glen Rose, Texas has information
about what is going on and where to stay.
New hotels have opened this year while
others are under construction and may be
open by the end of October. The Bureau can
assist you to see what is

Make you overnight reservations before
getting to Glen Rose. This is a busy tourist
town.

Glen Rose is about 55 miles southwest from
downtown Fort Worth and 75 miles from
downtown Dallas.
