to join Membership
Benefits PURPOSE
HOW
TO JOIN - Three ways to become a member, and three levels
of membership.
Membership is open
to persons who have an interest in
promoting the
purposes of the Society. Memberships are valid for 12 months from the
month joined or renewed.
Please note: For most society
events your
membership must be be active
for a minimum of one month (30 days).
MEMBERSHIP
LEVELS
Single Membership -
$25. This level gives individuals full membership rights.
This level targets persons who will engage in the monthly activities of
the society and who wish to vote or hold office.
Family Membership - $30. This level
provides membership for a family at a
discount over separate memberships for each individual. Family members
have the same rights and privileges as Single members. Family
membership covers all related members over 16 years of age living at
the
same address.
Newsletter Subscription -
$20. This level targets persons who live outside of the
DFW Metroplex.
Terms
and Conditions: I understand and agree that the
Dallas
Paleontological Society assumes no liability in case(s) of accident or
injury,
therefore I release and hold harmless the Society, it's officers and
agents
from any claim and/or damages of any kind arising from any activity
associated
with the Society.
I
understand and agree that by
submitting this
application/renewal form, it is my responsibility to be familiar with
and abide
by the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the
Dallas Paleontological Society.
Ways
to join:
In
person: attend one of our monthly meetings. General Meetings
are
held on the second Wednesday of every month at
Brookhaven Community College, Ellison Miles Geotechnology Institute
(EMGI).
Brookhaven is located at 3939 Valley View Lane, Farmers Branch,
(Dallas) Texas 75244.
On-line application and pay dues.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS
Benefits include fossil
collecting Field
Trips, our monthly newsletter The Fossil Record,
and workshops. Additionally, the DPS has a series of Occasional
Papers authored by members. After you have joined when an
Occasional Papers
is published, one free copy will be available to you.
Occasional Papers published before
you join can be purchased through the
DPS Store. (Volume 1 is available as a free PDF.) Privileges also
include
participation on paleontological digs.
PURPOSE
OF THE SOCIETY
The Dallas Paleontological
Society was founded in 1984 for the purpose of promoting interest in
and knowledge of the science of paleontology. It was intended by the
founding members that the Society would be a network for the exchange
of data between professionals and serious amateurs in this field.
The Society is organized
exclusively for
educational and scientific purposes, including, for such purposes the
making of distributions that qualify under the Internal Revenue Code
section 501 (c)(3).
