Brownwood,  October 15th and 16th, open fieldtrip.

Fieldtrip Schedule.  (Itinerary subject to change)

You may hunt both days or one.  If you want to camp, let me know.  DPS will reserve several spots for us but I must know how many people plan on camping.   Contact me at pollym@airmail.net or 903 916-0083

Saturday,  October 15th

Meet at McDonalds in Brownwood @ 9:00.

We will then travel to near Lake Brownwood to get some coral specimens.

We will then travel to Wilson's Clay Pit for the remainder of the day.

Sunday, October, 16th

Meet at McDonalds in Brownwood @ 9:00.

We will visit an interesting Permian site on a private ranch about

45 miles west of Brownwood.  Plan to have lunch at the small lake there

and experience a bit of ranch adventure.

From there we travel about 30 minutes to Lake San Tana.

Time permitting, those interested can go to the large Pennsylvanian road cut

20 miles south of Brownwood. It appears to have been hunted pretty hard

recently, but there are still plenty of specimens there.

Itinerary can be subject to change.

NOTE:  THE LAKE BROWNWOOD SPILLWAY SITE IS NOT RECOMMENDED

Lake Brownwod State Park has good camping, and there are several hotels in Brownwood.

Who we are

The DPS is a group of professional and amateur paleontologists that want to exchange information, interact, and continue their education in paleontology.  We meet once a month on the second Wednesday evening of the month at Brookhaven College, Building H.
