Jacksboro Study Group September Meeting

  • Sat, September 08, 2018
  • 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM

To all Finis Shale Study Group members,

Our next meeting will be on Saturday the 8th of September at 9AM. Please bring anything you still have questions about and we will try to help. If Dr. Neuman has more fossil guide material available by then we should bring along whatever new fossils he covers. Check the website for any new additions. We have not covered vertebrate material, trilobites and plant material so bring along any that you have.

We still meet at the GeoScience building at U.T.Arlington in room 202. Parking is free at the metered spaces on the weekend.  Click here for more information!

We are still gathering fossils if you are interested in contributing to the material for the Heard Museum “Collect it Yourself” display in October so please bring your best examples of anything you are willing to loan the museum for six months. It will be displayed under glass for protection and your name will be displayed among the other contributors. I don't have any seeds and all of my shark teeth are of pretty marginal quality if you can help with that. This program is meant to highlight what an amateur can manage to collect locally so no material from professionals should be included but we are happy to get help from anyone with ideas to enhance the display or to make sure we have proper identification.

Reply with any questions or suggestions.

Thanks, Bob Williams
