Ladonia Fossil Day Activities (Rain or Shine, Indoors)

  • Sat, October 20, 2018
  • 9:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Ladonia, Texas

Mick Tune is our main guy for the Fossil Day event at Ladonia on  Saturday, October 20th. The publicity at: http://www.ntxe-news.com/artman/publish/article_112748.shtml mentions that our North Sulfur River Guidebook but it is sold out.

LADONIA FOSSIL DAY is this Saturday at the Fannindel High School ... rain, flooding or shine!  Fossil viewing 9am to noon.  Program at 10am.  With all of the rain to date and still to come, I seriously doubt anyone can get into the river after the program. If the river is closed (day of decision) we will give participants extra time see displayed finds and to interact with volunteers with questions about the NSR.  Joe Simpson, Joe West, Dennis Brasher, Tom Newman ... you and your displays are the main attraction now!  To all who might come and learn, I promise the displays, program, and the personal attention to questions will be worth your trip -- even if you can't visit the river.  Lots of other people volunteered ... Nathan Van Vranken, Don Fagerstrom, Debbie Vaughn Wooding, Kim Pervis Spells, and more.  Due to high water, we may not need river guides, but you are still more than welcome to come to see some fossils and, especially, to help us interact with participants!  (Doors open at 8am for those setting up fossil displays).
